Despite the abundant rich natural resources, this part of the world has been left poor and the victim of all kinds of hardships.  We recognize the desire of many people who want to help and some time it is hard to know the best way to help.  East Africa Gateway is here to help you find the best match for your skills and how you can assist, while visiting the mother land and gaining an appreciation of what it is to visit home again. 

Your participation in volunteering services, while touring this part of the world, will help support and accelerate the process of development efforts made by local governments, international institutions, charities, community groups and grassroots organizations in East Africa.

We can help in organizing a range of volunteer activities and internships in East Africa for individuals as well as groups of any size.  East Africa Gateway will provide the relevant information needed for planning a successful trip and guiding you through an amazing adventure, by visiting attraction sites that will enrich your experience while you are helping the community.  

Our Voluntourism programs in East Africa include volunteer work in the area of orphanage assistance, teaching, health care, religious relief services, media and journalism, law, sports, community development and technology, as well as many others. Volunteers can participate in most of the programs anytime all-year-round. People from ages 18 and up, any religion, race or nationality are welcomed to participate in these programs. Volunteers work alongside local professionals in their areas of interest. Intern-student-volunteers observe and assist in the work of the local professionals and serve under the supervision of those professionals. 

This program is for everybody, whether you have special skills or no skills, there is a lot to do in this area.  Our programs are not designed only for university students or academicians. Anybody from any professional or non professional background can be accepted to volunteer with us. What matters is your motivation, charisma, initiative, drive and the compassion to assist underprivileged people to overcome their challenges and their struggles for dignity. 

Participants stay with carefully selected, respectable host families in a home-stay setting. There are also other forms of accommodation available such as college's dormitories, hostels, or even vacation homes and hotels.  For long term services (3 weeks to 12 month) additional requirements may apply to ensure that your stay is sustainable and well planned.
